The Workshop
Theory to Action is excited to be the organization providing the only MITI Certification Training endorsed by the creators of the MITI coding system. The MITI can be used as a training tool to enhance Motivational Interviewing (MI) skill and as an instrument to document objective markers of MI skill for research or quality improvement. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the MITI, its components and its uses, through a combination of presentation, demonstration, and practice using audio recordings coded by Denise Ernst, PhD, and her coding team. Post-training certification will be based on participant’s coding of “gold-standard” audio recordings coded by creators of the MITI, Theresa Moyers, PhD and Denise Ernst, PhD.

This MITI Certification will be renewable annually through continued demonstration of proficient use of the MITI. Click on the link for more information.

The workshop is open to those with any level of experience with the MITI, from beginners with little or no experience to those with advanced experience.
